June??? I haven't been around since June? How could that possibly be right? Hmmmm..... Yes, so it is true, I have not blogged here since June which apparently had been a weak entity in itself for the time leading up to that last entry.
Now, as I sit before my key board I have to ponder that perhaps it is best I have been missing once more. There is so much I could have been writing about in my own personal life. However, with the current state of the economy, which was more than predictable; the elections and the more than biased, slighted and mal-adjusted media coverage and exploits, and the condition of the dirt road we have lived on for the past ten plus years, I would no doubt have had more to say than what was truly necessary!
Okay, let's get it out of the way right up front... I am voting for McCain and Palin (bimbo or no bimbo) - I like the woman and am more than thankful to have a more common voice to the issues of Americans in our society within the walls of the White House than I could possibly express. McCain has enough foreign policy experience and back ground to bring her up to snuff in no time. Doesn't that make them the dynamic duo? One who's been there so to speak and one who is from our side of the tracks or more so than any other politician I've ever seen running for the highest offices in our great nation.
And what do I think of Obama? I believe that if he is elected it is just one HUGE MAJOR step closer to our prophetic end times. No - I don't believe he is the anti-Christ... He may be good with words, but he isn't that good! However, the mere fact that we are even considering electing a man with a Muslim background who has been uncovered more than once in the ways of his beliefs, etc, and even has the Muslim name to correspond with it all tells me more than I ever thought I would witness in my own life! WOW!!!! This is more than scary... I don't hate the man, but I do think he presents as very pompous and somewhat arrogant. Maybe in reality he is none of these things, but that is my take on him. He also appears to be a very controlling type of person - hence why he opted not to choose Hillary for his running mate. Not saying I would have voted for them had he, I would not have... But it is a valid point which would have sown the election of tighter than a vacuum sealed container. Yep - he would have had it in the bag... Then again, with the cursed electoral voting system he may have it sown up regardless.
And yes, that would be my next point in contention! The electoral voting system should be abolished for good. The popular vote of the American people should be the final deciding factor in who is elected or not be it in primaries or otherwise. It angers me that they have put into place a function in which they imply we are not capable of deciding for ourselves who is best suited for the job. If the elected candidate comes down to the last counted vote, then so be it - but it should not come down to electoral votes that cancel out the rest of our efforts to get out and make it count.
And where are the conservative and/or liberal Christians in all of this? I can tell you where they are not... They are not reading their Bibles; they are not listening to the warning signs, or witnessing the red flags that surround this whole ordeal!
So, I throw in the towel and turn my frustration with the whole process and the media (who has been in bed with Obama since long before the primaries were concluded) over to God. May his will be done. May he have mercy on us all for our choices and our lack of truly knowing and/or seeking his will and his desires for not only our country but our own individual lives!
Surely that is more than enough on that subject. Sorry, but I had to go there!
So, on to the good news! The good news is the power of positive thinking; the spiritual laws written in the book of life (The Bible) are alive and well in this believer’s heart and life! We are in the midst of a move - yes, a big move…No, not to the big house on the hill but rather two smaller houses on a mountain. Ron was employed in Mesa County by IXP - an energy/pipeline company - the first of August. It has been a whirlwind of a ride since. He along with Chad, Kelly and Drew all went up to start working the middle of August. Chad resigned himself to going to work for a different oil company with the individual business pursuits looking to be tough to break into up there. But the good news is he has an excellent job now! Kelly is working for the small branch bank in Collbran which is only a short 10 miles from where we are going to be living. Ron seems to like his job with all things seeming to be coming together in this area as well. My brother, J.D. got on as the truck boss with the same company and will be moving the rest of the family over within a couple months. Drew is making more than I think he ever has working up on the pipelines. Sharell and Ken moved up to Grand Jct the first of Sept as Ken got on with still another oil/energy company. The industry and economy are much brighter over there for all of us and how blessed can I be in having the majority of my family moving to the region with us?
We have three boys in placement who have remained with us and will be going with us over there.... Talk about red tape! But the fact of the matter is we are all eager, excited and can hardly wait to go!
The house was supposed to close on Tuesday but it had to be delayed until Friday due to the appraisal review process being over looked - but they say not to worry - it will all come together and close on it's most recent changed schedule time.
The place takes me back to memories of my childhood growing up in the mountain region outside of Bailey, CO when there were few people living there full time as they do now days. It is 25.6 acres on a mountain surrounded and secluded by cedar and pinion tress abundant. It is a smaller ranch style house that we already intend to add on to; and a second Swiss Chalet style two story second house that is one bedroom (loft) with a lower and upper deck and views second to none.
We hope to be up there living full time by mid to late Oct and with persistence and faith I think we can make it. Probably the biggest issue remains in moving the horses. I had planned to hire it done, but we'll have to see if the funds allow for it. I fear it will cost us more to do it ourselves in the long run - but as stated, we'll have to see.
I am in awe of how God is moving in our lives. Ron is so committed to getting right with God and it shows! I believe that we are all ready and willing to serve him and walk in the will he has for our futures. Maybe after all these years we are finally beginning to understand that he really does have a plan for good and to prosper us! Suppose you might say we are slow learners... LOL
Hope you all had a great summer and that fall is finding many blessings and color changes for you each and every one!
